Hay-on-Wye Bowling Club

Hay-on-Wye Bowling Club Members looking very smart and being presented with their Club Shirts by Brian and Timothy Dennis, Old Forge Garage, who have kindly sponsored the club shirts. Brian Dennis in the centre is presenting a Club Shirt to former Club President Fred Lloyd who then thanked Brian and Tim for their extremely generous gift.

NEW MEMBERS

New members of all ages are most welcome, both experienced players and beginners. Our members and coaches are very friendly and helpful and will assist whenever you feel the need for guidance. Please come along and we’ll be happy to chat to you.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Established in 1987, Hay-on-Wye and District Bowling Club is situated on the edge of the famous book town in stunning landscape between Hay Bluff and the Wye Valley. Hay has a wonderful 12th century Norman Castle which was recently restored and is open to the public.

Hay Bowling Club host plenty of in-house competitions including men's and ladies' singles, pairs. triples and mixed pairs as well as being affiliated to the Mid Wales Bowling Association and the Women's Mid Wales Bowling Association. Hay Bowling Club welcome new members with open arms and make them feel at home.Among the club members there are several coaches who will happily spend time with new members.

CLUB NIGHTS

Every Tuesday Club Triples start at 6.30pm. This friendly competition is on-going.  Please come along and join us, this is an ideal opportunity for new members and old to learn and practice the game of bowls and meet friends.  The competition lasts for 12 ends.
Thursdays Social Bowling 6pm - 8.30pm
Evening Coaching / Practice 6.15pm

CLUB COMPETITIONS

Please put your names up for Club Competitions so that the Competition Committee can make the draw.For the benefit of members new to the competitions, the player in the "above" position of the draw table is responsible for the arrangements of the game, booking a rink and obtaining a marker.

CLUB FACILITIES

The club appreciates any spare time that members can give to the club to help keep our lovely facilities in good order - such as painting, cleaning, mowing outer edge of green, digging flower beds and keeping a tidy store shed.
